It was nearly 10 in the evening when he saw her. He was exhausted and was just coming out of the studio. He thought nothing can spark his interest anymore but she was like a spark in complete darkness, he couldn’t miss her. She was a tall red-haired woman, driving a dark red convertible car, stopped at the streetlight in the corner. The car was not very new but you could see that this woman treated her car like any woman would want to be treated by a man. It was eye-catching by definition. All he saw was her incredible blue eyes in her rear-view mirror. While he was gawking at her he noticed the corner of her eyes go up, and realized she saw him staring and started smiling. He didn’t know what to do so he involuntarily raised an eyebrow trying to think of what to do so he wouldn’t seem rude. The woman’s eyes were so captivating that he could almost smell her perfume although the windows to his car were closed. While the light was about to turn green Adam thought he saw her lean forward as if she was daring him to follow her.

He heroically resisted the burning urge to follow her car, and as he got home questions started popping in his head. Questions that he struggled to find answers to. Plausible answers. His mind was boggled. He changed into something else and finally got to go to bed. For once in quite a while, he fell asleep as soon as he turned the lights off and crawled into bed. That was strange. He always tossed and turned for at least another hour, no matter how tired he was. Nevertheless, he fell asleep thinking of those ocean-blue eyes, and that woman he couldn’t get out of his head, even if he never even saw her face. He was positive that he could smell her perfume through the closed windows, and the windshield of his car.

Even if he went to sleep almost immediately, his sleep was not free of stress. He dreamed odd things about the mysterious woman in the car. He was back in his car, in the same spot and opposed to the fact he willed himself to not follow the car, in his dream he just couldn’t resist. He followed her for a long time, out of the city, into plain fields, and then between mountains, through warm weather, through rain and storms, thunder and lighting. Despite of the bad weather that was presenting itself now, the woman never converted her car. It looked like she was enjoying the rain and thunder, and from what he could see, thanks to her rear-view mirror, it looked like she was laughing and talking to someone, even if she was alone in the car. She started laughing heavily and as she turned her head backwards to laugh her silver silk scarf flew away and got caught on Adam’s windshield. “Hmpf. Car-kit for her cell,” he thought. “She couldn’t possibly be talking to herself” he said to himself .

He had to rest, as he had a performance to attend to the next day, but when he awoke from his dream, he was more exhausted than he was when he went to sleep. And above all, he thought he smells her perfume again. As he stood up, he reached for his head, and saw her perfumed scarf tied in a knot on his wrist.
